With 350,000 bookable hotels and over 40,000 companies using its business services, the German HRS is the most conservative OTA in Europe and in fact the only one that puts forward competitive proposals to face the pressure of the giants Expedia and Priceline. Among the various services offered by HRS in an attempt to differentiate its offer from that of its competitors, the HRS app allows the business traveler to streamline the processes of searching and booking the stay and, thanks to sensors installed in the hotel lobbies, to check -in and check-out. Following the abolition of rate parity, in November 2016 HRS partnered with Expedia and launched the multisource system , which essentially allows it to draw on all of the Expedia Affiliate Network's inventory.
Contrary to what happens on a metasearch such as compatriot Trivago, however, thanks to the partnership the Cologne-based OTA has been able to expand its offer without handing over bookings to third parties. Guests who book a stay via the Affiliate Partner Denmark Phone Number Network on HRS complete the process on the same portal and there is no redirection to the Expedia site. The corporate momentum, the app and the sensors It is not known to us whether or to what extent the adoption of the multisource model is economically more helpful for HRS, compared to the more classic consumer model, to keep up with the powerful marketing of competitors while guaranteeing the best rates. But the company is currently opening a new and larger headquarters in Cologne and aims to establish itself as the leading online corporate travel agency.
The HRS app is among the corporate services, but is also competitive on the leisure travel side. From mobile, rates discounted by up to 50% compared to desktop are available to everyone, and sensors have been installed in 250 European hotels that recognize the traveler from the app : in addition to automatic check-in and check-out, these transmit a series of personal information to the facility's terminal and consequently streamline the "bureaucracy" between hotel and guest. Business-to-business for large companies For now, it is mainly small and medium-sized companies that use HRS business services. But CEO Tobias Ragge says the small business traveler represents an important source of information to help develop competitive business-to-business services for large companies. In addition to specializing in corporate business travel, Ragge aims to differentiate itself with a pool of independent hotels which, amounting to 210,000 structures available for booking, is among the highest that an OTA can boast.
