Hi all, introduce yourself here either by your real name or preferred published name. I'm NatlockHolmes. My real name is Nat, which is short for Natalie Elizabeth Harman, and my non-preferred published name is Natalie Harman. I recently completed a BA at USC; I'll be graduating on October 2, 2014. My majors were creative writing and English. - ‘Bower’ in Showcase.
- ‘Fold’ in in.tense.
- ‘Dustflakes’ in Writing from Below.
- ‘Take me swimming’ in Ricochet Magazine.
- ‘All Talk and No Trousers’ in Social Alternatives. (Pending.)
For writing: someone once told me one of the things they like the most about my stories are their variety. For reading: the classics, post-modernism, minimalism, erotica ... not to be a pretentious fart, but I don't see genre; if it grabs me, I'll read it, if it doesn't I eventually won't. Short fiction. I lack the patience to write a novel (and sometimes even to read them). Both. ~ Nat.

Hi everyone, I'm Hayley. I haven't got a specific genre that I like to write, I am still discovering what that might be. I'm in my second year doing a Bachelor in Creative Writing and love it. My aim is to write a novel that people actually enjoy reading .

test,
one, two...one two, testing testing...pah..pah...kah...kah...test ing...ting...ting...one, two...one twwoo
Phew, just checking.
I'm David Blake or Davey B or Hey you're that annoying guy that asks a lot of questions...are you mature age by any chance?
I'm also not present this semester on account of taking a secondment for something that is not even my program...
I like lots of stuff. There is an even to good chance I even like you!
I've been published-
The Promotion - Kaleidoscope/Collideoscope 2013
yet to be published-
A Story in Completion - Anthology 2014
My Bachelor and Program are unknown to all - including myself. I think it has something to do with enjoying learning what I am good at in order to learn what it is I enjoy in order to do well at something in my life that has actual marks and not just a TAFE based pass or fail.
I am an audio technician and often get lost in complex conversations about many many things I won't bore you with now...(just deleted 3 paragraphs I sh1t you not)
I plan everything until the last few hours then usually throw it all out and start over.
Also, I will help with anything anytime which is probably why I am so poor.
hope any/all/some of this made sense
peace

Greetings Inkies!
Not a huge bookface fan so I'm happy to see this site up
I'm trace, and pretty much everyone calls me trace. I'd be published as trace if I could! (be trace that is, not get published).
well, I'm at the pointy end of a Bachelor of 2500w short stories, with a major in critical reflections, some history & language rounding things out. I write first, then if it fits into somebody's genre box then that's okay, but I don't think about it too much. That said, I'm interested in exploring the silent/reticent protagonist, heroes who are a shade damaged, rhyme & alliteration, and just plain nonsense! oh, yeah.. I make up words (and use them) and I still like to write with a pen.
hmmm... publications & stuff... I'm just realising that my little list of achievements is growing!
Things I'm proud of:
1. Publications
- Blackbird - Showcase, Issue 5
- Hard Case - Showcase, Issue 4
- Firestick - Kaleidoscope, 2013
- Mercury Lane - In.tense, 2012
- Rellik - Perilous Adventures Short Story Comp 2012 (winner)
- The Browns - USC Anthology 2014 [pending]
- Warheart - USC Anthology 2014 [pending]
2. Other stuff
- Sprocket - Sunshine Coast Spoken Word inaugural Poetry Slam 2014 (winner) what fun!
- FLASHjack - ScriberSpace [defunct] 99 Word Flash Fiction Comp (winner) Naomi presented me with a book in front of the whole lecture theatre... I was terrified.
I too am keen to join in any slam activities, work/uni schedule permitting. So, that's about the longest post I've ever written... but you did ask!
hooroo, trace

Herro My name is Sarah, and I'm a new and shy writer (i.e. I don't show anyone anything I've done unless it's for assessment - even posting on here make's me want to pull my head in back into my shell). I'm doing a Bachelor of Communications majoring in PR, minoring in CW. I love to write, but I'm not an avid writer, so I'm out of the loop when it comes to publishing and pursuing it as a career. Sheesh, I don't have much to contribute do I? Anyway, I like short stories and novel writing, anything dark and thought-provoking, definitely a pantser, and I love to travel. Also if you want to talk to me about food, oh my gawwwwd I love food, definitely up for that.

Hi Sarah, Whether or not you share, I'm sure there's plenty you can contribute You don't have to be published to call yourself a writer, and maybe we can help you peep out of your shell a little more often? And... I'm with you on the food thing

I've been published several times, and I still get nervous sending stuff out, showing people my stuff, or when they read my stuff and tell me (gasp) I get all tic-y (at the same time, though, I crave affirmation and like talking about my ideas, etc... go figure). I have two drafts on the go at the moment and every time I've went to show someone this week or even just tell them I'm working on them I chicken out, and I shouldn't because I'm a bit stuck and talking helps with that. I get that feeling about posting too. I'm shy/quiet... but when I care or don't have too much on my mind, I talk. I'm so-so about food, but I'm all for passion.

shy often comes with the territory (my marathon post, way outa character for me.. hey, Nat?) and to love writing is enough, everything else is a choice.
"dark and thought-provoking", a pantser, travel, a foodie AND saying gawwwwd... welcome friend!
